Abstract Submittal Guidelines
Welcome to the 7th Petroleum Geology Conference Online Abstract Submission System.
This system has been designed to allow all presenters to submit abstracts from
any location and to allow our team of theme convenors to review abstracts with
ease. The system will decrease the time required to process abstracts and will
result in the early publication of our provisional conference programme.
In order to submit an abstract for this conference you should follow the
instructions and guidelines given in this document. We would recommend that you
print and read these instructions prior to starting your submission process.

GENERAL RULES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMITTAL:

Abstract should be no more than 500 words

No images can be included in abstracts

No equations to be included

PLEASE NOTE once an abstract has been submitted it cannot be changed so please
ensure your abstract is the final version you wish to submit. Should you wish
to cancel a submission please contact HELP
PLEASE NOTE that oral presentations will be 20 minutes in length with a further
5 minutes allocated to questions. When compiling your abstract you should bare
this in mind.
USER GUIDELINES
Before being able to submit an abstract you will need to register yourself as a
user on the system.
You should complete the registration form with all your personal details. This
will allow us to contact you at any point to discuss your abstract and update
you on all conference developments.

You should use the email address that you wish to be contacted through. |
| Password |
You should create your own password ensuring it is one that you
will remember as this will give you access to the site on all future occasions. |
PLEASE NOTE should any of your details change prior to the start of the
conference you should logon to the system and update them.
Once all personal details have been completed you should SUBMIT these details. A
confirmation email will then be sent. Please keep these details in a safe place
to ensure future access to the site.
You will also see a message at the top of the page stating that registration has
been successful. You can then Login to the site using the link on the page or
in the left hand column of the site.
In order to access the site you should complete email address and password.
These should be the same as the ones used to register. If completed
successfully your Personal Home Page will appear.
If you have forgotten your Login details please DO NOT REGISTER again. You
should click on the FORGOTTEN USERNAME AND PASSWORD link and a reminder email
will be sent direct to your registered Email address.
Your personal home page will show the status of your account, detailing any
abstracts that have been submitted previously.
If no abstracts have been submitted you will see a message saying “You have not
submitted any abstracts yet”
If you need to change your personal details you can do so from your personal
home page by clicking on the link UPDATE YOUR DETAILS. It is imperative that
these details are kept up to date in order that we can contact you and your
details appear correctly on the conference DVD.
This is the place to change any of your personal details.
To update your details just type over the information already displayed and
click SUBMIT.
Should you wish to change your password then click the CHANGE PASSWORD link.
You will then be asked to type in your original password, new password and
verification of that password.
You should then click the SUBMIT button. Your new details will then be emailed
to you at the email address provided.
PLEASE NOTE your correct email address is used at all times.
Enter the title of the abstract in the box provided.
Using the drop down menu choose whether you wish your abstract to be submitted
as a
POSTER OR ORAL presentation.
Highlight the theme you wish to submit your abstract to.
It is recommended that the abstract is “copy and pasted” from a Word document
into the abstract box. That way if there are any problems the abstract doesn’t
have to be re-typed. Please ensure that your abstract consists of plain,
unformatted text.
Complete the author(s) details. Information required: firstname, surname and
affiliation
If the details completed are correct then you should click the SAVE AUTHOR
button.
Additional authors can be added by clicking ADD AUTHOR button, saving each one
when completed.
You MUST then indicate which author will be presenting the paper by ticking the
PRESENTER box next to the appropriate author.
Finally, click the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the page to submit your
abstract to the 7th Petroleum Geology Conference.
You should repeat the above process for all abstracts you wish to submit.
By clicking MY HOME PAGE you will see all abstracts that you have submitted.
